The Countryside Management Service (CMS) are proud holders of the Investing in Volunteers Standard, a nationally recognised standard for organisations who work to involve the community.

Volunteers

Since achieving the standard we have been sharing our knowledge and experience our local authority partners and many voluntary groups throughout Hertfordshire. We are currently working with a number of colleagues within Hertfordshire County Council who are keen to explore opportunities to involve the community in their work.

The CMS work with local communities in Hertfordshire to help them care for and enjoy their environment. CMS volunteers work hard across Hertfordshire to improve the countryside: undertaking practical conservation tasks in parks and green spaces, enhancing our Rights of Way network, promoting health by leading Hertfordshire Health Walks, and directly supporting CMS Projects Officers to deliver a variety of other projects and programmes.
