Weston Hills, Baldock
Weston Hills has recently been declared a Local Nature Reserve in recognition of its special value for wildlife and local people.
It is a lovely nature reserve on the chalk slopes on the edge of Baldock, with beech woodland and chalk grassland. The grassland is rich in wild flowers and the woodland attracts many bird species. Slow worms and common lizard can also be found here. The site has some interesting archaeology including ancient cultivation terraces and chalk workings. It is well used by walkers and dog walkers. There are many paths although some are steep.
Car parking is available at Hatch Lane, off London Road and the site can also be accessed on foot from Woodland Way/Chiltern Road and Ivel Way.
