Small Projects Grant

What is it?
The small projects fund is administered by Countryside Management Service on behalf of the WCCF Project Development Group. It is a valuable means of stimulating small-scale projects, which contribute towards the WCCF objectives. The grants available to any one project are normally 50% of the agreed costs up to a maximum of £2000 pounds.

Grants are usually awarded for projects that involve the community, improve the natural environment or promote enjoyment of the Community Forest. The works proposed, need to be of public benefit and appropriate to the ecology, landscape or archaeology of the area.

Are you eligible?
To receive a WCCF grant, the project you are undertaking needs to be within the Community Forest area, view a WCCF map here. Your project will also need to meet one or more of the current objectives;
1. Creating well designed woodland
2. Securing access to and good management of existing woodlands
3. Creating and re-opening good quality walking/cycling/riding networks
4. Securing involvement from a wide range of local communities
5. Securing financial and in-kind investment
6. Creating woodland on other sites
7. Securing landscape heritage and bio-diversity benefits

If you do not meet the objectives you maybe eligible for Environment Stewardship or other grants, see our Advice for Landowners page
