Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA)
CAA is the new framework through which the major public service inspectorates will together make independent assessments of how well people are being served by their local public services. Its focus is primarily on the prospects for better outcomes locally rather than the internal workings of individual organisations.
The assessment is done jointly by six inspectorates. The first results of these area assessments were published on the 9 th December 2009 on the new Oneplace website.
In the area assessment, CAA looked across councils, health bodies, police forces, fire and rescue services and others responsible for local public services.
